Planning out a project is very similar to how you learned to write. You may have an idea for how you want your project to look at the end; or you may have no idea what it will look like but you know where you want to start. Learning to use some of the visual mapping tools will assure your project goes smooth and looks great when you are done.

Activity

A family at your school has lost their home and all their possessions due to a fire. Students have been asked to come up with some ideas for a fun day fundraiser to help the family. What ideas do you have?
  • Using one of the resources listed below, create a visual map of your ideas and all the things that would need to be done in preparation.
  • Remember to include different types of activities, supplies, food, volunteers needed, and anything else you can add to make this the best day ever and help out the family!
  • Post your visual organizer to your web page, or copy and paste it to a document you can share with your teacher.
